In this book Evola examines the possibility of re-establishing a traditional state and the form such a state would take. He criticises the petty bougeois-conservative notions of statecraft (e.g. capitalist libertarianism) as well as totalitarian ones (e.g. Fascism), and asserts instead the pre-eminence of the Organic State.
The book also considers the nature of race, the purpose of work, metahistory, over-population and several other issues. As such it is a good introduction to radical traditionalism.
